Skills For Future

Skills for the Future is a groundbreaking secondary education programme, fostering the next generation of entrepreneurs in Europe; empowering them with the insights, skills and confidence to innovate solutions to the numerous and complex challenges ahead. Skills for the Future is an initiative of EIT RawMaterials, EIT Food and EIT Climate, three Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs), which are part of a larger network supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) to spur innovation and entrepreneurship to overcome some of Europe’s greatest challenges.

In the first semester students take part in the two-day long intensive Innovation Camp. During this educational camp students in small groups create an idea for the challenge 'How to make my school and environment more sustainable?'. They develop their idea through several workshops in relevant topics such as climate innovation, business development and communication; and also business mentors helps them to establish their business concept. At the end of the Innovation Camp all teams pitch their idea in front a professional jury, and the best 4 teams have the opportunity to join for the international Summit in Brussels. In Brussels besides the Hungarian teams, the similar prorgramme attendees from the other two countries (Italy, Slovenia) showcase their idea, and receive feedbacks from the professional jury.

In the second semester there is more focus on the development of the mini-businesses with their volunteer mentors. Mentors support the student groups with their professional experience in the field of sustainable business development. During this semester a few fairs take place, where all teams can sell their product for the public. At the end of this period there is a national competition, and the best teams will have the chance to go for the international competition.
